Innovative designs to treat angled, stiff, and swollen joints.

As seen at the American Society of Hand Therapist and The Philadelphia Hand Meeting

Angular Ortho finger and thumb extension orthoses are designed for jammed PIP or IP joints with flexion contractures, Dupuytren’s contracture patients rehabilitating after needle, injection, or surgical joint releases, joint stiffness related to finger or thumb fractures, and trigger digits that remain contracted despite appropriate treatment.

The PIPro is a patent pending dynamic finger extension orthosis designed to improve PIP flexion contractures.  Its tapered neoprene design provides broad contact around the entire surface of the digit to reduce pressure points and promote edema reduction.  The PIPro fits even the smallest of fingers through large digits with its X-small, Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large sizing.  The heat-seamed design is easily trimmed at the distal edge as well as the webspace without worrying about sewn edges which unravel.  For patients prescribed a night wear schedule, an optional comfortable night strap affixes the PIPro securely in place.

The Pollux is a first-in-kind thumb orthosis specifically designed for the unique challenges of thumb IP flexion contractures.  The broad proximal aperture is designed to contour to the thenar eminence for a proper fit and the shortened tapered distal segment is designed specifically for thumb anatomy.  Unlike finger PIP joints, the thumb IP joint has natural hyperextension and the Pollux orthosis is designed with a greater corrective angle to help restore this normal range of motion.  The patent-pending Pollux splint is also heat-seamed and easily trimmable without worries about seam unraveling.  A night strap (included with the Pollux splint) securely holds the orthosis in place for patients prescribed night wearing.
